SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

Neglectful Driver Sentenced for Leaving 2 Special Needs Children on Bus

A school bus driver who left two special needs children alone in the vehicle for 45 minutes during a hot summer day has been sentenced to three years of probation.

The New Jersey Herald reported that 47-year-old Kimberly Moumblow, of Highland Lakes, must also undergo a mental health evaluation. She had pleaded guilty last November to cruelty and child neglect charges.

Authorities have said Moumblow left the two boys, ages 7 and 9, on the bus in July 2013. During that time, the bus wasn't running and the doors and windows were closed.

The children were found shortly after their parents called the bus company and asked why the boys had not been dropped off. Authorities have said the children were overheated and distressed, but were not seriously injured.
