Frankford Woman Accused of Animal Cruelty

Cats seized from Philadelphia home

Agents from the Pennsylvania SPCA removed nearly two dozen cats from a home in the 16-hundred block of Granite Street  in Frankford on Wednesday.

14 cats were taken out alive.  4 of them were dead. An SPCA employee called conditions inside the home gross.

"Cat bones by the back door, cat bones in the middle of the basement, urine and feces everywhere" said an SPCA worker.

The owner of the home, a 60-year old woman, has been charged with animal cruelty. Officials believe she was taking stray animals off the street.
