Tractor-Trailer Slams Into House

Multiple accidents temporarily shut down Route 1 Southbound in Langhorne on Monday afternoon. Police on the scene tell NBC10 that everyone involved is expected to be okay

Route 1 Southbound at Hulmeville Road in Langhorne is now re-open, according to PennDOT,  after multiple accidents involving several vehicles just before 11 a.m.

Bucks County Dispatch tells NBC10 that two people were transported to St. Mary's Hospital. Police on the scene tell us that everybody involved is expected to be okay.

Video from Chopper10 showed a car underneath a tractor-trailer, and another tractor trailer crashed into a house. No one was inside the home at the time of the accident.

Bear Shelby, the driver of the tractor-trailer that crashed into the house, told NBC10 he first collided with a car that cut him off. The impact of the crash sent his vehicle across several lanes of traffic and into the side of a Middletown Township home, according to Shelby.

"I'm just glad there was nobody in the house," said Shelby. "When I finally came to rest in the house the only thing I could see was a little kid's bed."

Another tractor-trailer was also involved in the accident. The driver of a Jeep also told police he came close to being hit by the second tractor-trailer and turned off the exit and hit a guard rail.
