Big Rig Wreck Slows Interstate 295 in Mount Laurel

2 people hurt in crash along I-295 in Mount Laurel Monday morning

Traffic came to near halt along busy Interstate 295 in South Jersey after a tractor-trailer tipped over during the Monday morning commute. The closure lasted through most of the morning.

Only one lane of traffic could slowly get by the scene on southbound interstate 295 past Exit 43 after the crash, which also involved a car, in Mount Laurel around 7:45 a.m.

Two people had non-life-threatening injuries, Burlington County dispatchers said.

The drive time on the I-295 quickly ballooned as the average speed lowered to 7 mph, Waze said. As of 10:45 a.m., the crash continued to slow traffic to a near halt.

Drivers traveling between Mount Holly Road and Route 73 can use the adjacent New Jersey Turnpike or Route 38 west as alternate routes.

The roadway finally appeared to be reopen again after 11 a.m., but residual delays could remain.
