Montgomery County Mom Punished for Torching Detective's Home

A suburban Philadelphia woman is heading to prison for burning down her neighbor's home because she blamed the detective who lived there for her son's legal troubles.

Fifty-three-year-old Donna Krupp was sentenced on Thursday to 10 to 20 years behind bars for setting fire to Ernie Morris' home in December 2014. A jury convicted the woman of arson and other charges in November.

Morris is a Limerick Township police detective.

He testified their relationship turned sour after he tried to help Krupp's troubled son.

Krupp has denied involvement. But prosecutors showed jurors surveillance footage showing a person setting fire to the Morris' Christmas tree and fleeing toward Krupp's home.

The fire destroyed the Morris' home while they were on vacation and killed their 18-year-old cat.
