Missing New Jersey Woman Found Safe in Woods

Police say a 44-year-old woman who was reported missing last Thursday was found alive in a secluded wooded area in central New Jersey.

NJ.com reports Christine Rosie was discovered by volunteer K-9 search teams around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on the western side of Interstate 295 in Hamilton.

Capt. James Stevens says Rosie was dehydrated and showed signs of being exposed to the elements for several days. She was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where her condition is unknown.

Rosie was last seen Sept. 1 at the home of her estranged husband. Thomas Rosie says Christine promised to walk their daughter to school the next morning but never showed.

Stevens says Rosie's disappearance remains under investigation. Detectives will take a formal statement from her once she's healed.
