Missing 74-Year-Old Man's Body Found in Pennsylvania River

The body of a 74-year-old man reported missing last month has been found in a central Pennsylvania river.

Crews say the body of James Coons, of Clearfield, was found Tuesday near Shawville in the Susquehanna River.

Police say Coons was last seen when he went for a walk March 12 in his neighborhood about 110 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Now they're trying to determine whether Coons accidentally fell into the river or wound up there some other way.

Investigators believe Coons entered the river where the Clearfield River merges with the larger Susquehanna. The area is known for strong currents and the water would still have been frigid when Coons was last seen.
