College Tennis Captain Missing, Purse Found

The College of New Jersey senior hasn't been seen since Tuesday

Authorities are asking for help finding a student at the College of New Jersey who has been reported missing after her wallet and cell phone were found on the George Washington Bridge.

Paige Aiello, captain of the school's women's tennis team, was reported missing by her parents Wednesday afternoon; they told authorities they had last seen her at about 1 p.m. the day before.

Her family tells NBC4 New York that Aiello's belongings were found on the GWB Tuesday evening, and that Aiello had taken her mother's Audi.

The family said Aiello attended classes Tuesday before returning to her parents' home in Hillsborough.

The Somerset County prosecutor's office, which is assisting in the investigation, said the Audi was found in a parking garage near the train station in New Brunswick late Wednesday. Detectives plan to conduct forensic tests on the vehicle and review NJ Transit surveillance video from the nearby platform.

According to the school's athletics website, Aiello is a communication major.

Hillsborough police say there's no sign of foul play in Aiello's disappearance.

Authorities searched the Hudson River Wednesday evening and found nothing. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about Aiello is asked to call Hillsborough Sgt. Sean Carolan at (908) 369-4323 or TCNJ police at (609) 771-2345.
