2 Teens Killed in Snowstorm Crash in Bucks County Worked Together

The crash occurred as a snowstorm swept into the region.

What to Know

  • Two teenagers were killed while another was hurt in a crash on a snow-covered road in Milford Township during Sunday's winter storm.
  • The crash occurred during heavy snow in the area and the road the vehicle was traveling on was not treated at the time of the accident.
  • Police believe the weather and road conditions played a role in the crash.

Two teenage passengers in a pickup truck driving through heavy snow Sunday evening in rural Bucks County were killed while the 17-year-old driver suffered very serious injuries and is in critical condition.

The 17-year-old, who was not immediately identified, was driving a 1995 Ford pickup on Route 663 (John Fries Highway) just south of Brinkman Road about 5:30 p.m. in Milford Township.

He lost control, police said, and crashed off the road along a wooded stretch near the border of Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Passengers Michelle Goodwin, 18, of Pennsburg, and Daniel Pierson, 18, of Red Hill, died at the scene. They worked together at a Dairy Queen on Main Street in Pennsburg.

Prior to the crash, the teens had just finished their shift and were heading to Taco Bell with a friend, according to their coworker, Kelly Friedman.

Friedman said they told her they were going to Taco Bell and one of their friends was driving them.

"I didn't know if it was a good idea but I never said anything," Friedman said. "And I really wish that I did even though it probably wouldn't have changed their minds but I'm just really upset that it happened this way."

Don States, a friend of Goodwin's, described the last thing she said to him before her death.

"'Whenever I see you, you always brighten my day,'" States said. "And that was the last thing she said to me before she was gone."

Police didn't reveal an exact cause of the crash. They believe, however, that weather and road conditions played a role. No charges have been filed.

PennDOT said a truck treated the road around 4:10 p.m. and then came back to the area from the opposite direction at 4:37 p.m.

Police continue to investigate.
