After the harsh, wet winter, summer (well at least the unofficial start of summer) arrives this weekend.
So what will the long Memorial Day weekend bring from Center City to the Jersey Shore, from the Pocono Mountains to the Delaware Beaches?
We went to NBC10 First Alert Weather chief meteorologist Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz for the answer.
“Expect a way better than average Memorial Day than we normally get around here,” said Hurricane. “No big problems and for half of the weekend it looks about as good as it gets.”
Here is what you can expect each day:

Each day of the long four-day weekend should be better than the one before.
“We have mild air that will be over top of us as we start off the weekend,” said Hurricane. “It’s not going to be especially warm.”
It also could be wet to start. The best chance of showers should be on Friday as temps push into the low 70s in the city and surrounding burbs. By Saturday, temps should push into the mid-70s with the chance of showers becoming less.
By Sunday, it should feel like summer.

“The warmer air starts to surge up,” said Hurricane.
Expect plenty of sun on Sunday as temps push up to 80. The warm-up continues on Memorial Day with highs expected in the low to mid 80s as plenty of sun shines.
Expect the beaches and shores to be warmer than the mountains to start the weekend but as the winds switch, the scenario should change for Sunday and Monday.
“It will be cooler at the Shore because of the sea breeze with ocean temperatures right now in the upper 50s.”
