Medical Marijuana Patients Face High Prices in Delaware

Patients who use medical marijuana in the state of Delaware say they still struggle to gain access to the drug legally and pay exorbitant prices when they do.

The Wilmington News-Journal reported Sunday that many people must drive hours to buy the drug from a legal dispensary. Some people purchase marijuana from drug dealers in an effort to quickly treat their pain and other debilitating conditions listed under the state's medical marijuana program.

Medical marijuana cardholder Todd Boone says he has to drive 190 miles round trip to the state's only dispensary in Wilmington. Sometimes the store runs out of the strain that best treats pain from a 2008 motorcycle crash. He's now suing the state to open more dispensaries. [[238427591, C]]
