Margaritaville Comes to the Jersey Shore

Atlantic City's oldest casino now has a new entertainment attraction in hopes of attracting Parrot Heads and others "looking for their lost shaker of salt."

Resorts Casino Hotel is having the grand opening Friday of its Margaritaville restaurant, LandShark Bar & Grill, entertainment and gambling complex.

The $35 million Jimmy Buffett-themed attraction -- the first in New Jersey -- is part of a $70 million makeover of Resorts, which opened 35 years ago this weekend.

The complex is expected to breathe new life into Resorts, which has struggled to compete against newer, larger casinos in Atlantic City and in neighboring states.

In addition to a restaurant, two bars, a coffee shop and a retail store, Margaritaville also spills onto the casino floor, with themed slot machine areas.

A giant blender, an ode to the frozen concoction made famous in Buffett's signature tune, welcomes guests.
