Man Gets 20-Plus for Buying Gun for Ofc. Brad Fox’s Killer

Michael Henry, the man who admitted to buying several guns for the convicted felon who murdered Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox was sentenced Thursday.

Henry must serve 20 to 66 years in prison, five months after pleading guilty for the illegal sale and transfer of nine firearms and lying on gun purchase applications.

"I think it's such a tragedy for all that we knew this was such an unusual case that the possiblity of an extraordinary sentence was always there," said Craig Hosay, of the Montgomery County Public Defender's Office.

Henry admitted buying the guns for Andrew Thomas, a convicted felon who paid Henry to buy the guns since he wasn't able to. Thomas shot and killed Officer Fox in September 2012 while he was responding to a hit-and-run call in Conshohocken.

"We hope that that sends a deterrent effect to anybody that would put a gun in the hands of a convicted felon," said Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele.

After shooting Officer Fox, Thomas killed himself during a police pursuit.

"Brad had a young daughter and never got to see his son because of the actions of a defendant who put this lethal weapon into the hands of a convicted felon," said Steele.
