Man Shot in Philadelphia Nightclub Runs to Shuttered Hahnemann University Hospital

Police say a man shot in a Philadelphia nightclub ran to a nearby hospital only to learn that it had been closed.

Police say the 45-year-old man said he was jumped by 10 to 15 men shortly after entering the club just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday. After escaping, he ran to Hahnemann University Hospital, but seeing it was closed he flagged down a cab to drive him to his vehicle.

Once there, he felt back pain, realized he had been shot, and ran to a corner bar for help. He was listed in stable condition at Jefferson University Hospital. No arrests were announced.

Hahnemann used to serve nearly 150 emergency room patients daily. Officials announced in June that the facility would close.
