Man Rams Into Camden Detectives With ATV, Flees the Scene

A man deliberately rammed Camden police officers with an all-terrain vehicle Saturday night, police said.

Two detectives were on patrol around 11:14 p.m. near Broadway and Mount Vernon streets when they saw a man tampering with equipment at East Coast Gas station. They ordered him to stop, but instead the suspect drove his ATV straight into the police car.

He first hit the passenger side door, which then hit one of the detectives. The other detective ran from the driver side to the back of the police car and was hit by the ATV. The detective fell into the street as the suspect fled the scene, officials said.

Both detectives were taken to a local hospital and released after being treated.

Officials are looking for a man with a medium complexion who was driving a four-wheel ATV. anyone with information is asked to call Camden County Police Department at 856-757-7042.
