Man Jumps Barrier After I-95 Crash: Police

A man is in police custody after a car accident on I-95.

Police say five vehicles were involved in a crash on the southbound lanes of I-95 at Broad Street shortly after 5:15 p.m. When Pennsylvania State Police arrived, they say they spotted the driver of one of the vehicles jumping the barrier and fleeing the accident scene. The responding state troopers were able to detain and capture the man.

The man is currently in police custody.  Officials have not yet revealed the charges against him or why he tried to flee the scene in the first place. They do suspect that the man is mentally unstable however. Police say no one was injured in the crash.

Two lanes on I-95 were blocked for a short time but are now open again.
