A Pennsylvania man is accused of leaving his 7-month-old daughter at home alone while he went out to drink, then assaulting her mother when she confronted him about it.
Uniontown police said 21-year-old Brandon Russman was supposed to babysit his daughter while his girlfriend was working the evening shift Monday. They said he instead went to a bar and then a friend's house to drink.
Authorities said that when the girl's mother returned and found the girl alone, she tracked down Russman. Police said he knocked the woman down and choked her.
The public defender for Russman did not immediately return a call Friday.
Russman remained in the Fayette County jail and faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 13 on simple assault, harassment and child endangerment charges.
