A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to seven to 14 years in state prison for fatally shooting his stepfather during a dispute over a television at a Pittsburgh residence.
Aaron Israel, of Carnegie, Allegheny County, was sentenced immediately after pleading guilty to third-degree murder Thursday in the death of 45-year-old Kevin Kirkland.
Police say Israel's mother had asked him to change the locks on her home after she and Kirkland had a domestic dispute last June.
Police say Kirkland forced his way into the home about 2:30 a.m. June 28, and accused Israel of stealing a TV, which had actually just been moved to another room in the house without Kirkland's knowledge.
