Dead Man Found in Pond Did Not Drown: Coroner

A coroner says a man whose body was found in a pond near a drug and alcohol treatment in southwestern Pennsylvania didn't drown.

The Fayette County coroner says toxicology test results will be needed to determine how 21-year-old Michael James Cameron died.

Cameron was a patient at Another Way Inc. in Wharton Township, Fayette County, about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh, when his body was found in the shallow pond about 7:30 a.m. Sunday by another patient.

The treatment center has not commented on Cameron's death.

Cameron's family says he checked himself into the treatment center because he has struggled with addiction.

They've said state police have told them the death is being investigated as a possible homicide.

The coroner says medical records and more state police investigation will help determine how Cameron died.
