Wannabe Pennsylvania Police Cadet Faces Sex Charges After Failing Lie Detector Test

State police have charged a Pennsylvania man with having sex with a minor based on answers he allegedly gave during a polygraph pretest while applying to become a state trooper.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 29-year-old Joseph Adam White, of Hartstown, who also doesn't have a listed phone.

Troopers from Meadville charged him Thursday with four counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and 10 counts of corruption of minors.

Police said White was at the Meadville barracks on Jan. 15 for his police cadet lie detector exam and, during the pretest, told the examiner he had consensual sex and other contact with the girl — who is now 19 — in 2011.

Police charged White after they interviewed the girl and she corroborated that information.
