Man Drowns in Neshaminy Creek

Police are investigating the drowning death of a man in Bucks County Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say that around 2 p.m., five friends were swimming in Neshaminy Creek in Lower Southampton Township near East Bristol Road and Grove Avenue. They were trying to reach a rope swing on the other side.

One man, a 23-year-old from Kensington, only made it half way however. When his friends couldn’t find him, they called the police.

The Lower Southampton Dive Unit found the victim, pulled him out of the creek and tried to revive him but to no avail. He was taken to the Aria Torresdale hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His name has not been released. Police say he would have turned 24 in two weeks.
