Man Dies After Falling 3 Stories From Warehouse Roof

A southern New Jersey man has died after falling three stories from the roof of a warehouse.

Paulsboro police Chief Joseph Giordano told NJ.com that 66-year-old Gerald Hubbs was working on the roof of the warehouse when he fell three stories Sunday.

Hubbs owned the warehouse with his twin brother, John. Investigators dug at the building in 2002 while searching for evidence in the disappearance of their mother, Ethel. She was last seen in January 2001. Police believe she died of natural causes, but her body has never been found.

Police found dozens of weapons, explosives, jewelry and prescription drugs, and illegal gas and electrical service connections during that investigation. Gerald Hubbs was convicted of theft of electrical service and his brother was found guilty of weapons possession.

Both were sentenced to probation.
