Man Charged With Painting Swastikas on Businesses

A Yardley man was arrested after he allegedly vandalized several businesses in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

On April 17, police discovered several businesses had been vandalized along Route 179 in West Amwell Township. Electrical wires supplying power to the building were cut and swastikas as well as curse words were spray painted on the exterior walls.

Police say they later obtained a description of a vehicle used during the crime.

“It was later determined that a vehicle fitting that description was stopped in the neighboring township of Hopewell on the night in question,” said Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns.

The investigation led to the arrest of 20-year-old Brandon Wetzel of Yardley, Pa. In addition to the vandalism, police also say he stole license plates from a vehicle parked in the parking lot near the businesses.

Wetzel was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and theft. He posted $15,000 bail and was released pending a court appearance.
