There is no body, but there are murder charges.
Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has charged a suburban Philadelphia man with the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
Kenneth L. Patterson, 48, has been a suspect in the disappearance of 57-year-old Diane Corado since Dec. 19, when he allegedly forced his way into her Fairless Hills, Pa. apartment, assaulted her with a pipe, and took Corado and another woman away in Corado’s SUV.
After forcing Corado and her friend to leave with him, Patterson let the friend go, according to police. The friend called 911, telling police that Patterson had threatened to kill Corado and then himself.
Patterson was found and arrested 15 hours after the alleged abduction in a motel on Route 73 in Burlington County, N.J.
After months of exhaustive searches for Corado, only her blood-stained car was found near Camden, N.J. But the lack of a body hasn’t stopped the Bucks County District Attorney, who officially charged Patterson with first-degree murder.
The amount of blood inside the car’s console, on the floor and seats and covering much of the front of the car, along with statements to police and other evidence, was enough to charge Patterson with murder, according to court documents.
Patterson was arraigned Wednesday and ordered to be held without bail.
