New Jersey Man Acquitted of Murder in 2008, Charged with Killing Mother of Three

A man found not guilty in a deadly 2008 shooting has been charged with killing a young mother of three.

Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said Thursday that 25-year-old Donald Scurry was charged with murder in the death of Celeste Cannon last week in Millville.

Cannon was found dead in her home on Sept. 20. Prosecutors did not reveal a motive for the shooting.

Scurry was ordered to be held in Cumberland County Jail and it wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.

He was found not guilty in 2012 of fatally shooting Rakeem Stubbs during a fight on Christmas Day in 2008.
