Looking for the best beach in New Jersey now that it's officially summertime? Look no further than a 137-year-old beach town.
Ocean City was named the best beach in the Garden State in New Jersey Monthly's Shore Town Showdown, besting more than 39 other beach towns in the state. The honor was based on votes New Jersey monthly readers submitted over several rounds.
Ocean City received about 31.4 percent of the vote in the final round.
The Wildwoods came in at No. 2 with 19.3 percent of the votes, while Cape May came in at No. 3 with 16.2 percent.
