Local Ad Man Stars in Health Insurer Video Directed Toward the LGBT Community

Stephen Facenda always wanted to be a TV weatherman. So when he was given the opportunity to star in a video for a health insurer he jumped at the chance to get in front of the camera.

What made the opportunity important to him, Facenda said, was the message behind the campaign.

Facenda and his partner Todd Babish are one of two couples featured in a video Aetna produced as part of the company’s “Be Proud. Be Well.” marketing campaign that is aimed at the LGBT community.

You can watch the video here. The campaign debuted last week.
“They wanted real couples, not actors or actresses,” said Facenda, owner of Viamark Advertising in Wayne, Pa. “I’ve been with Todd for 18 years. … We are getting married next year.”
