Nearly 900 Without Power After Trash Truck Takes Down Power Lines in Drexel Hill

A trash truck caught fire after live wires fell on top of the vehicle in Drexel Hill Thursday.

PECO is on location as live wires are down on the trash truck that caught fire on Garrett Road and Morgan Avenue in Delaware County.

PECO says that the garbage truck pulled down the wires and pole around 10:45 a.m.

The occupant is out of the vehicle, but there have been no reports of injuries at this time.

890 customers are affected by the garbage truck after it took down the power lines. PECO says they are working to isolate the damage and then will work to restore service.

Garrettford Elementary School is located on the same block as the accident.
