A Lehigh County man was arrested Friday and charged with assaulting a 13-year old boy.
47-year old James Andrews is facing a list of charges that include rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. Andrews works for Lower Macungie Township.
Police say Andrews sexually assaulted the 13-year old boy numerous times over the past 7 months. The alleged assaults happened in Andrews’ home and in the Lower Macungie Township maintenance building.
According to investigators, Andrews has an office in the building and access to township buildings after hours.
Township officials released a statement, saying “We are deeply troubled at the nature of these allegations and the fact that some misconduct allegedly occurred at our facilities.”
Andrews is being held at the Lehigh County Prison.
