3-Year-Old Girl Dies in Lehigh County Car Crash

Friends and family are mourning a 3-year-old girl who died in a car crash Saturday in Lehigh County.

Officials say Nevaeha Lydia Marie Rivera was in the backseat of a vehicle that was traveling south on the 1900 block of Weaversville Road in Hanover Township around 4:40 p.m. As the car approached a curve, the driver lost control and entered the northbound lane, striking the front driver side of a second vehicle, police said.

The impact caused Rivera to be ejected from the car. She landed on the road and later died from her injuries. Police say the vehicle she was in was torn apart due to the collision. They also say she was sitting in a child safety seat at the time of the crash. [[375228681, C]]

A 10-month-old baby was inside the car as well, investigators said. Officials have not yet revealed whether the 10-month-old or the drivers of the two vehicles involved were hurt in the crash. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are all investigating.
