Lawyer Asks Court to Keep Officers in South Jersey Shooting From Talking

A lawyer representing two New Jersey police officers involved in a fatal shooting during a traffic stop that was caught on camera has asked a federal court to keep the officers from making statements in a civil suit.

The Daily Journal reports attorney Deborah Rosenthal filed a motion Wednesday to keep Braheme Days and Roger Worley from giving depositions until the state Attorney General's Office concludes its investigation.

Jerame Reid's wife filed a federal lawsuit after the officers shot and killed Reid during a traffic stop in December.

Police dashboard camera footage showed the Bridgeton officers had warned Reid not to move in the passenger seat. He stepped out of the car, raised his hands, and the officers fired at least six shots, killing him.

Neither officer has commented.
