The Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GPHCC) announced the launch of the Latino Papal Fund, a mobile donation site to raise money for the World Meeting of Families.
Before the first Latino Pope will step on Philadelphia soil, Varsovia Fernandez, president of GPHCC, is working to mobilize the local Latino community to donate.
The GPHCC and local Latino leadership are hoping this effort will garner participation from 100,000 Latinos who will contribute $5 each.
The World Meeting of Families will commence on September 22 and donations will be accepted from June 29 through September 30.
