New Jersey Troopers Disperse Large Crowds as Firemen's Carnival Ends Early

Firemen's carnival cut short by crowds, disturbances

Police ordered the early closure of a firemen's fair in a New Jersey town because of the crowds and reports of minor disturbances.

The Home News Tribune reports the Middlesex Firemen's Carnival was scheduled to operate until 11 p.m. Saturday. But it was brought to an end by 10:30 p.m.

Police Chief Matthew Geist says state troopers and police from neighboring towns were brought in and the crowd was dispersed without incident.

No injuries were reported and there were no arrests.
