Jury Selection for Pennsylvania Husband Accused of Trying to Kill Wife's Friend

Jury selection has begun for the trial of a central Pennsylvania man accused of having tried to hire someone to kill a male acquaintance of his wife.

Forty-six-year-old Gregory Allen Hess of Seven Valleys is charged in York County with solicitation of criminal homicide and criminal use of a communication facility.

Prosecutors allege that he paid a confidential informant $30,000 to kill a male acquaintance of his wife. Authorities said the informant called police and the would-be target helped stage photos in a ruse to convince Hess that the murder had been committed.

Hess faces separate charges alleging that he tried to arrange the murder of the purported "hit-man" turned informant and then tried to have the second purported "hit-man" killed after he also turned out to be an informant.
