Jury Talks Resume in Trial of Pennsylvania Man With 5 Bodies in His Yard

A jury resumed deliberations Wednesday in the Luzerne County trial of a northeastern Pennsylvania man who allegedly used plastic ties to strangle a pharmacist and his girlfriend in 2002, then buried their bodies in his yard.

Prosecutors allege Hugo Selenski killed Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett in a plot to rob the pharmacist of tens of thousands of dollars from an illegal prescription drug ring.

Selenski could face the death penalty if he's convicted. He has pleaded not guilty.

The jury met for four hours Tuesday without reaching a verdict. Deliberations continued Wednesday.

Another man, Paul Weakley, pleaded guilty to helping Selenski kill the couple and testified against him. Selenski's lawyer calls Weakley a liar.

Authorities found at least five bodies in Selenski's yard in 2003. He beat two previous homicide charges.
