Judge Tosses Jersey Shore Town's Parking Ordinance

A judge has ruled a Jersey shore town's parking ordinance is unconstitutional and motorists might be eligible for refunds.

The judge sided with Camden County lawyer Kevin Walsh who appealed his Point Pleasant Beach parking ticket. The judge found signs don't sufficiently warn motorists that they must display the parking receipt on the driver's side dashboard as proof of payment.

Town attorney Sean Gertner tells the Asbury Park Press an illustration on the pay station shows drivers where to place the tickets.

The judge is considering Walsh's request to order the town to refund motorists who have been fined for failing to display the ticket.

The judge has yet to issue a written opinion.
