Judge Approves Settlement That Will Preserve Golf Course in Cherry Hill

A judge has approved two settlements that will preserve a golf course and bring affordable housing to a section of Cherry Hill.

The settlements approved on Tuesday end two lawsuits brought against the township by the owner of Woodcrest County Club and an advocacy group for affordable housing.

Cherry Hill will pay no more than $4 million under the agreement for development rights to the club, which was sold in a bankruptcy auction two years ago.

The deal also calls for a 54-unit, all-affordable apartment complex to be developed by Fair Share Housing.

The agreements settle two lawsuits regarding the site and immunize Cherry Hill against more litigation over past affordable-housing goals.
