2-Hour Delays: Power Problem Slows SEPTA Regional Rail Trains in Montgomery County

It took more than 6 hours to resolve issue with overhead wires

A power problem delayed SEPTA Regional Rail trains for up to two hours in Montgomery County Monday morning.

The inbound service to Center City from the Jenkintown-Wyncote Station along Greenwood Avenue grew after a train experienced overhead power problems around 7:30 a.m. The busy Jenkintown station serves Airport, Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster and West Trenton lines.

"All passengers at Jenkintown, Elkins Park, Melrose Park and Fern Rock Stations should board on the outbound platforms," said SEPTA.

The delays were originally around an hour but then ballooned to 2 hours by 9 a.m. as SEPTA tried to resolve the broken down train problem.

SEPTA began to shuttle bus passengers around the problem.

The problem remained at noon with delays up to an hour, said SEPTA. the agency finally got the power problem fixed around 1:45 p.m. and expected trains to begin moving with residual delays. [[238427591, C]]
