It's Official: Check Out the Itinerary for Pope Francis' Historic Visit to Philly, NYC, DC

The Vatican has released Pope Francis' official schedule for his trip to the United States that will wrap up with two days in Philadelphia later this month.

In Philadelphia, the pontiff will take place in a series of public events include the Festival of Families concert on Saturday, Sept. 26 and a public Mass on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Sunday, Sept. 27.

First, he heads from Rome to Cuba Sept. 19, where he will hold a Mass, visit with President Raul Castro and celebrate vespers with priests, seminarians and others in Havana, among other events.

The pope will arrive at Joint Base Andrews on Sept. 22. The next day, he will meet with President Barack Obama at the White House and celebrate Mass outside of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The Mass outside the Basilica will be in Spanish and will be a ticketed event. 

The pope will leave for New York City on Sept. 24 and address the United Nations general assembly on the morning of Sept. 25. The pope will then hold a multi-religious service at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

Pope Francis then plans to head to Philadelphia on Sept. 26 to take part in the World Meeting of Families, a gathering of Catholics held every three years.
