Deadly Bread Truck Crash on I-95 in Pennsylvania

UPDATE: Pennsylvania State Police released preliminary findings that the bread truck struck the occupants of the SUV after the SUV became disabled in the center lane.


A deadly crash between a bread truck and a sport utility vehicle closed Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania for more than four hours Monday morning.

The wreck occurred in the northbound lanes of I-95 approaching the I-476 interchange (Exit 7) in Chester, Delaware County around 3 a.m.

At least one person died when an Amoroso's bread truck collided with the SUV, said state police.

State police blocked all northbound lanes above Exit 6 (Route 320) for hours as the medical examiner investigated the wreck.

Pennsylvania Route 291 served as an alternate route.
