A crash left a car overturned and one of the area’s major thoroughfares closed this morning.
The car crashed along the eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway just past the Conshohocken Exit in Lower Merion Township around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The Philly-bound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway are normally some of the busiest during the morning commute so crews worked quickly to upright the vehicle but as they worked all lanes were closed leading to a mile-long backup.
No injuries were reported.
After about 20 minutes, crews had the car uprighted and were allowing about one lane by as they cleared some more debris and fuel from the roadway. The roadway officially reopened a short time later.
