Husband, Wife Found Shot to Death in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A husband and wife dead in an apparent murder-suicide died in a central Pennsylvania apartment where four other people- including their two children- were staying, police said.

Manheim Township officers were sent to the Kensington Club apartment complex in Lancaster Township shortly after 9:30 a.m. Saturday after a call to check on the welfare of the residents.

Lt. Thomas Rudzinski said the man and woman were found dead of gunshot wounds.

"It is believed that one of the two is the person who fired the shots," he said.

The names of the deceased, who were found in their bedroom, haven't been released. Officials said a gun was recovered.

The couple's two children and two other adult family members were also in the house overnight, but authorities don't know when the shots were fired, police said. They do not believe neighbors heard anything.

Neighbor Gerald Foultz, who lives just a few doors away, said he was "shocked" to hear the news.

"You don't hear anything happening around here. It's quiet. It's a really nice place," he told LNP newspapers.

The discovery came two days after the bodies of two elderly men were found at another residence in the township. Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play in those deaths.
