A driver took off after hitting a construction worker on the side of Kirkwood Highway westbound, at Route 141 in Wilmington Thursday night, according to Delaware State Police.
Witnesses describe the vehicle as a white Ford pickup truck, possibly a F-150 or F-250.
A-Del Construction employee Andrew Ramos, 34, was putting out white barrels on the right shoulder of the highway, when he was hit from behind, police say.
Ramos was wearing a reflective vest and helmet at the time. He was taken to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with what were being called non-life threatening injuries.
The driver sped off.
