Bad news for drivers trying to use I-95 in Delaware this weekend -- road repairs put traffic at a standstill.
Motorists in Delaware were at a standstill Friday after pothole repairs forced an 11-mile backup on I-95 Northbound from Maryland to the I-295 Eastbound exit.
Please be advised to avoid this area throughout the weekend, said police.
DelDOT is handling all road closures and detours.
Police encouraged motorists to seek alternative routes prior to the detour such as:
- I-95 northbound to one of the bridges in Pennsylvania to New Jersey
- Route 9 northbound to the Delaware Memorial Bridge
- Route 13 northbound to I-295 eastbound and then over the Delaware Memorial Bridge
