“Horrors” Trial Roundup: Stifling Debate & Gov. Ridge's Role

We’re taking a look at all the media coverage on Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s murder trial. NBC10.com has extensive, daily coverage on the case here. This is a look at what other outlets are saying.

Race Card Stifling Debate
A black conservative group tells The Daily Caller they’re angry at Gosnell’s defense. Jack McMahon, Gosnell’s attorney, likened the trial to a “lynching” and called the prosecution “racist.” But Project 21’s Derryck Green says “it shows that using the race card works, to stifle debate” over abortion. Green also criticizing what he feels is a lack of media coverage in the case.

“Unindicted Co-Conspirator”
Former Pa. Gov. Tom Ridge is called an “enabler” of the crimes allegedly committed by Gosnell in a piece by Red State. Ridge, a republican, is blasted for a lack of inspections of Gosnell’s and other abortion clinics across the state. The 2011 grand jury report outlined how annual clinic inspections were ceased under Ridge’s administration.
