“Horrors” Trial Roundup: Gosnell was “Confused”

The murder trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell continues today, but we take a look at the interesting stories about the case from yesterday. NBC10.com is in the courtroom and has extensive, daily coverage on the case here. This is a look at what other outlets are saying.

"Confused and Discombobulated"
That’s how a Philadelphia Fire Lieutenant Don Burgess described the demeanor of Dr. Kermit Gosnell when firefighters responded to a 2009 emergency call at his West Philadelphia clinic. Burgess took the stand late Monday. Gosnell’s staffed dialed 911 after 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar became unresponsive during a procedure. Prosecutors say she was given a lethal dose of pain killers and anesthesia and Gosnell faces third-degree murder in her death. The Philadelphia Inquirer relives that night through the first responders’ eyes.

"Celebrating" Abortion Rights
A Fort-Worth, Ind. columnist uses the Gosnell trial as a jumping off point to question the celebration of abortion rights during Women’s History Month at Indiana University-Perdue University Fort Wane. The head of a pro-life student organization says abortion has degraded women. Columnist Kevin Leininger also blasts pro-choice advocates for not openly condemning Gosnell’s actions.
