Hoboken Eases Booting Illegally Parked Vehicles

Hoboken has modified a policy that immediately gave illegally parked vehicles the boot.

Parking spaces are hard to find in the tiny city.

Hoboken, which is in Hudson County, N.J., will give motorists tickets and put them on notice to move their vehicles within 72 hours. After that, they vehicles could be booted or towed.

Assemblyman Carmelo Garcia says wheel clamps are unfair because they can leave motorists stranded. Garcia also says boots don't give motorists time to correct the problem.
