Driver Flees on Foot After Striking 2 People on Bike and in Car on Roosevelt Boulevard, Police Say

The driver struck a person on a bike and another person in a car on Roosevelt Boulevard and F Street, police say

A driver of a Jeep Compass, which Philadelphia police say was stolen, fled on foot after striking a car and a bicycle along the busy Roosevelt Boulevard Thursday night, investigators said.

The Jeep driver struck the silver BMW, which resulted in the cyclist being struck, at Roosevelt Boulevard and F Street around 10:25 p.m., Philadelphia police said. The driver of the striking vehicle then got out and ran away on foot, accident investigators said.

The cyclist, later identified as a 50-year-old, was hospitalized in critical condition whit head trauma and a shoulder injury, police said. The 48-year-old BMW driver was hospitalized after complaining of pain.

The driver had taken the Jeep Renegade from a lot in Northwest Philadelphia earlier in the night, police said.

He was not being pursued at the time of the crash, investigators said.
