1 Dead in Marmora House Fire

A historic home is Cape May Co. caught fire early Monday. The home was completely destroyed and a body was found in the rubble.

One person is dead after a historic home in Cape May County, New Jersey caught fire early Monday morning.

Fire and rescue crews were alerted to the blaze on the 1000 block of Route 9 in Marmora by a neighbor across the street.

Officials confirm that the blaze, which broke out just before 2 a.m., killed one person and destroyed the historic home.

Officials are working to identify the victim. The home's owner is missing.

The home also contained an antique store. Firefighters were able to save the business, authorities said.

No word on what started the blaze.
