Hershey's said Wednesday that attendance at Chocolate World in Hershey was up 8 percent over last year. The company said it sold more than 1 million pounds of chocolate there, and about 175,000 people created their own custom candy bars.

Hershey's also has Chocolate Worlds in New York City, Chicago, Niagara Falls, N.Y., Singapore, Shanghai and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. A second location is planned for Shanghai next year and another is planned for Las Vegas.

Since the first one opened in 1973, more than 150 million people have visited a Hershey's Chocolate World.
